My original inspiration for these bars came from my fellow Canadian health-food blogger and vegan recipe guru Angela Liddon, of Oh She Glow. Her Almond Butter Crisp Rice Treats. So I tinkered a few times, and found the exact right amount that maintained the satisfying chew. I also wanted to add chocolate. Hemp hemp, hooray! Because of their mild, nutty flavor, they blend so effortlessly with just about any food, sweet or savory.

Wednesday, October 24, 2012. My best friend is getting married! Every girl dreams of this day and at one point in her life has spent hours upon hours going through bridal magazines dreaming of what her wedding day will be like. We spent the last weekend together in Los Angeles baking wedding cakes for some good friends of mine. This was just the time we needed to start working out some details of her wedding because we live nearly 900 miles apart.
